ACADEMY PLAYERS ‘READY to ROLL’ THANKS to JACKSONS MINI BUS DONATION
The St Peter F.C. Academy is the proud recipient of a significant donation from Channel Island automotive dealer Jacksons C.I. Ltd, in the form of a brand new 17 seat Peugeot Boxer Minibus LITE.
The Academy is celebrating its third season this year and has attracted support from a number of prestigious local businesses such as Jacksons, thanks to its emphasis on coaching the player as a person and not just a footballer. Local businesses have responded extremely positively in support of a genuine community success story which is clearly gathering momentum season by season.
The new Peugeot minibus, (which is formally being handed over to the club on Monday 9th December 2013 4pm at Jacksons main showroom); will be fully branded in the St Peter F.C. Academy and Jacksons livery. As an essential piece of Academy infrastructure the minibus will be used to transport players: to games, travel off-island to visit clubs in the UK / France, and to transport players to other community events as required.
Success on the field is closely matched by organisation and resources off the field. With this in mind St Peter F.C. Academy Chairman Brian Foulser said:
“We have a superb team of coaches and volunteers who have been instrumental in moving the Academy forward significantly over the past three years. However with 230 youngsters being coached throughout the week and competitive games every weekend, we desperately need the support of companies such as Jacksons and the Sanne Group to enable us to provide the appropriate facilities. We aim to raise the bar a little higher every year in what we set out to achieve for our young players and the community, our aspirations have no bounds.
The generosity of Jacksons in providing this superb 17 seat Minibus is really appreciated by everyone associated with St Peter FC Academy and the St Peter’s Football Club. It will enable us to simplify our travel, enhance team spirit by travelling to and from games together and making visits to compete off Island affordable. I extend my sincere thanks to Charles Tennant and the whole of the Jacksons team”.
Impressed with the Academy’s ambition and island-wide popularity, Jacksons have committed to a long term relationship with St Peter F.C. and have agreed to support player development which includes the establishment of a hardship fund. In addition Jacksons have agreed to host the annual Academy Awards held in June at their prestigious St Peter showrooms. Jackson’s General Manager Charles Tennant said:
“Jacksons are delighted to be associated with the club and its players and hope that the new Minibus carries the team to success through the current season and beyond. Sport is an essential ingredient of Jersey life and enriches the lives of the children and families who take part. Jacksons recognises the importance of involvement in the local community and look forward to supporting St Peter FC Academy and its many players”.
It is clear that with Jacksons’ support and investment in young Jersey footballers, the St Peter F.C. Academy is on the move and ready to go into top gear!
