Jersey’s top and most long-lived professional soccer coaching week will be running again in the last week in July. The 17th consecutive year that this highly popular event has taken place. The successful format has evolved over the years and no doubt there will be one or two additions for 2020. Back in 2003 when the relationship began David Moyes was the Manager of Everton managing them for 10 years until taking over at Manchester United in 2013. This was a particularly successful period for the Club as they consistently finished between 4th and 7th in the league. In Carlo Ancelotti, they have just appointed a world-class Manager and are confident their best days lie ahead of them.
The Everton FC Soccer Camp Coordinator and Senior Coach,
Sean Robertson and his coaching team are excited by their return to St Peter FC,
“We run coaching weeks throughout the year and visit some exotic locations but the whole team agree our Jersey Summer Camp is consistently the one that is most enjoyed. The facilities are great, the commitment from the young boys and girls is exceptional and the talent that we find each year is exciting. I guess we are lucky but the sun invariably shines, which we count as a bonus. We expect to welcome back many faces that we know and to be introduced to several new youngsters who will be joining us for the first time.”
8 coaches from the Premiership giants Everton FC, under the guidance of Sean Robertson, will be running coaching sessions throughout the 5 days commencing on Monday 27th July. The week is open to all Island boys and girls between the age of 5 to 14. As always, the accent will be on developing skills with fun and enjoyment an essential ingredient. Depending on the number of girls registering, it is hoped to include two experienced female coaches to encourage and satisfy the growing number of young girls now taking up the game. The activities will take place from 09:15 am to 3:15pm daily and all those participating should be checked in by 9:00 am each day to enable a prompt start. Each child should come with a packed lunch and adequate water. However, the kiosk cafeteria will be open to enable any top-up requirements to be purchased.
The week concludes on Friday afternoon with a presentation of awards by the Everton FC Coaches, each participant will receive a medal, a certificate and Everton FC memorabilia. Some special awards of signed memorabilia will be made to the best achievers
The cost for the entire week is just £125 with a reduction of £15 for all St Peter FC Academy registered players.
