New season’s Note from the Chairman

Welcome back
To what we hope and believe will be another exciting and
successful season.

To all player’s parents and guardians, the 2017/18 season is about to get under way and it will be our pleasure to welcome you all back to St Peter FC Academy. Welcome also to a number of new players and family members who are joining us. The facilities at St Peter’s are there for you to enjoy. The season ahead is bound to be challenging after the outstanding success that we achieved last year. However, with the quality of players that we have throughout the Academy there is no reason to be anything other than optimistic.

We are extremely pleased to tell you that our facilities will be extended for the coming season as we have arrived at an agreement with St Georges Preparatory School to utilise their magnificent facility at Le Hague Manor.
From minis to under 14’s, all training will take place there and we have four designated training areas all under floodlights. We also have use, on a pre- booked basis, of their large indoor Gymnasium for small sided games when the weather may turn against us.

All home matches up to and including Under 15’s will be played at this location.
The under 16’s and under 18’s will play all their home matches at St Peter FC
Our senior teams should be particularly competitive this season with the first team being strengthened by a number of new signings of Island players coupled to the very talented young players who emerged through the under 18 team. The balance of experience and young talent will I am sure be a good combination which can only help those young players reach their optimum ability very much sooner. A significant number of youngsters not going off to University will be tasting senior football for the first time, through selection for the reserves and the C team. I am sure that a high number of this years under 18’s and even some 16’s will be part of that process.

Our relationship with Gillingham FC continues to strengthen and with former England Manager Peter Taylor, now Director and Head of Football at Gillingham, this is likely to be consolidated. At every school holiday, we will continue to invite up to four young players to spend a week training with the professional Clubs Academy stars and then representing Gillingham in a match against another league team. Those players who have already had this opportunity tell us this is a fantastic experience.
We intend to bring some professional coaches over from the mainland to put our young players through their paces and of course to assist and encourage our own brilliant coaching team.
If the right opportunities present themselves, we would like to take some of our teams off Island, to test their abilities against English or French opposition.

It is extremely important to ensure, that you have visited the JFA web-site to re-register for the new season. If you haven’t already done so you should do so without delay as until you are properly registered and have paid your JFA fee (which includes your personal injury insurance), you will not be available for selection under the FA rules.
The Academy fees for the coming season will remain the same as last year
i.e. £85 and £75 for Minis’s. However there will be an early bird discount for everyone who pays their fee before September 30th, down to £75 and £65 for Mini’s.
It is helpful to the Club if payment can be made directly to the St Peter FC Academy bank account. Detail: -Nat West Bank, Sort Code 60-12-03,
Account 27109666. Quote players name and team. E.G. Fred Smith u 14’s

If you do pay by cheque, please make the cheque payable to St Peter FC Academy and post to Treasurer, Paul Crowell at Abalone, La Rue de L’Etoquet, St Johns, JE3 4AS

Finally, I am absolutely delighted to be able to inform you that in addition to our two key and renowned corporate sponsors, Jacksons and Le Masurier, who have both been so supportive, we have a new lead sponsor, Altair who have committed themselves to supporting the Academy for the next three years. We thank them for their generosity and the confidence they have placed in The St Peter FC Academy as a dedicated and successful entity.

To everyone associated with St Peter FC and the Academy in particular, I wish you an enjoyable and successful season both as individuals and as respective teams. Football is above everything, a team game and being a good team player and supporting your team mates will bring out the best in you as an individual. Have pride in your Club, your team and yourself.

With best wishes
Brian Foulser Chairman St Peter FC Academy 22nd August 2017
