St Peter 16’s Make History

Jersey under 16 champions St Peter took on Guernsey’s Champion’s Sylvans at JTC Wanderer’s to see who would be crowned Channel Island Upton champions. We got together early and the girls knocked up some fantastic pre match breakfast ,big thanks to Mrs W and Mrs B. We relaxed at our clubhouse then travelled over in our tour bus supplied by Jackson’s. Warm up done it was game time and our lads were ready. Attack after attack only to be stopped by Sylvans goalkeeper who had a fantastic game, but then the breakthrough the ball found its way to Jake Huckerby who smashed the ball home 1-0 to the Saints. The game was still tight however we St Peter were the far stronger team, h/t 1-0. We said to the lads keep going and keep playing quality football. They to be fair to them had a go and all of a sudden one lad hit a wonder strike and it flew in the top corner 1-1. But that was it from them as our lads took the game to them and dominated till the end. Connor got us back in front with a neat one two on the edge and with a cool finish. Then Kyle who was solid throughout went on a mazy run pass the keeper 3-1 to the Saints.

The trophy was handed over by the Grandson on John Leatt to Captain Jack who with his team mates raised it aloft hence creating history as it’s the 1st time St Peter’s have won it.

Last of all many thanks to all the friends and family for your support and hope to see you at Springfield this coming Sunday when we try and retain the Eric Amy cup against Guernsey Rovers.
