The English and Jersey Football Associations, on the advice of the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, have today suspended all grassroots football in both the UK and Jersey, with immediate effect until further notice. This includes matches at both Senior and Academy level and also includes training and coaching sessions. Whilst no time limit has been placed on this restriction, it is unfortunately possible for it to continue for a prolonged period.
We will, of course, monitor the advice constantly and be guided by the FA/JFA whose actions will be based on Governmental guidance. The Government has also decreed that no mass gatherings should take place and social distancing should be practised at all times for the foreseeable future.
It is with regret therefore that the Awards Night will have to be delayed until the COVID19 virus is firmly under control.
We have a fine and talented group of players across all age groups in the Academy and a brilliant team of coaches. It is appreciated that you will all be frustrated by not being able to enjoy the game you love; however, it is important to keep yourself fit by remaining active. We will endeavour to publish some routines on this web site that you can practise by yourself. When this unprecedented situation passes, as it surely will, we can all return and enjoy the game we love. By keeping ourselves fit and working to develop our individual skills, we can ensure we get off to a flying start when we return and enable St Peters to continue to set high standards and remain the Club that others try to emulate.
Remember to watch for the updates and the training and development routines on the Academy web-site
I trust you and your families keep safe and well. We look forward to welcoming you back to St Peter FC /St Georges as soon as possible.
