U13 Match Report

Sunday Afternoon, it was dry the sun was blinding and the wind for once wasn’t blowing us away. The under 13s only had one team out and it was against the unbeaten St Paul’s. What a joy to see it in the faces of our boys after a hard fought, sometimes a battle for the Norbits and to come home the well-deserved 2-1 victors.

From the start Olavo who was outstanding at the back, and he was supported by Calum and Tom who stood up well. James in goal pulled off some fantastic reflex saves and looked so confident at times. Daniel once he got going was back to his best solid and creative with Jay and Jack along side him, the two rocking horses never stopped running.

Sol had a fantastic game popping up all over, making a solid sound Captain’s performance, while Toby’s non-stop energy up front, he just didn’t let them settle.

The 1st period was a cagey affair were at one point we had 8  corners on the run and just couldn’t score. 2nd period we got our well-deserved goal, pure footy as well, playing from the back Olavo passed to Daniel who helped it to Sol. He slotted a perfect pass for Jay to run onto and he put in the back of the net. They had a goal mouth scramble but James stopped it going over the line 1-0 ht.

In the 3rd period we kept on going we also brought on Young Lammy, Big Alfie up top and Jack Bara at various parts of the match and as a team we looked just as solid. The footy was a joy to was watch at times and some great teamwork throughout, then on the attack again Dan fines Toby who crosses to Sol on the edge of the box, he takes into the box and places it into the far corner, 2-0 queue the celebration!

The last period they threw everything at us, even adding another 10 MINUTES couldn’t help them ! Yes they got one goal back but our boys got their just rewards 2-1 to the Norbits and well deserved.
