Under 18’s march on against Trinity

On a very windy day up St Peter our 18’s with some players rested took on Trinity, Our challenge was a new formation and to keep the ball and to keep the ball moving. To be honest we didn’t do this at 1st and we were quite lethargic in our play and we could see early it wasn’t working. Jake Prince who’s work rate has been outstanding lately got us off the mark from all of 2 yards. Then a mistake from the usual reliable El and they got in and made 1-1 we knew so nothing was said as we can learn from our mistakes. We reverted to our normal formation and then we started to play as a team chance after chance went begging, the bar post the goalkeepers feet, but our lads kept plugging away and Jake banged in another and then Luc Scot scored with his 1st touch great tactical substitution, 3-1 ½ time.
We asked the boys to keep playing and not to try and force it as much and we did get two quality strikes one from Burty boy an half volley from the edge. Then Jake completed his well-deserved hat trick with 30 yarder banged right into the top corner. Blamps had a solid game at the back also Packman had a much improved game, Kyle Arch and Burty gave us flare going forward and poor old Conor done everything but score, he could still be there now and it wouldn’t go in.
In summing up another 3 points Squad getting stronger very excited for the rest of the season, well done to all involved and a special thanks to Alan for running our line.
