Under 18’s up for the Cup

The lights were on and our lads ready and take on Wanderers in the under 18’s cup. We asked them to play with high tempo and press the ball when it wasn’t in our possession. To be fair the 1st half there was only one team in it and Big Dan Birrel in goal for Wanderers. Chance after chance after chance was it poor finishing I don’t think so, we created loads but he just got in the way. From the vocal Packman in goal keeping a clean sheet to the solid back four that to be honest weren’t troubled. In front of them Lammy and Ash grafted to keep us in possession also to stop them coming through. Archie Conk and Kyle went forward in style as was the story in our second goal pure filth and that was football. Up front Jake Prince was fantastic, leading at the front and not giving them a minute’s peace. With Players coming back we had a bench of quality subs and when asked slotted in and were solid when they come on.
But on to the first goal a corner from the right headed goal bound by Dan only to be headed over the line from 1 yard out by El. Wow.
The 2nd goal was an all-round top move, it started with a rare corner to them. Packman was big and vocal and collected the cross, then released it to Nelson. Moving it forward at pace an one touch football it was a joy to watch. Devo took two players with him but then backed healed into the path of Jake Prince, who finally got his just rewards and slotted it home. Top draw football take a bow.
It was a great day at the office last night, however we move on and focus on the league well done to all involved and a big thanks to the squad players not involved but at Springy supporting the lads.
Final Score St Peter’s 2 v 0 Wanderers
